"The Horvat Scholarship provided me with the opportunity to get an excellent undergraduate education. Having the scholarship allowed me to focus on my academic and research interests. I was able to prioritize internships and research projects rather than having to work exclusively to pay tuition. These experiences in turn prepared me for medical school. The Horvat Scholarship continues to have a positive impact on my life today. I am able to practice as a primary care provider in my hometown of Avoca in large part because I do not have educational debt. I am tremendously grateful to the late Dr. Horvat and to the Foundation."
