ONeillGrace insideMy education and medical training is one of my most prized possessions. Excelling academically has always been one of my top priorities. The Horvat Scholarship Foundation and funds graciously provided to me in honor of Dr. Horvat allowed me, a college student who had lost her parents at a young age, to devote all of my energy toward studying, performing undergraduate research, and creating friendships that will last a lifetime. The knowledge (and friendships) I gained in college have carried me through medical school the last four years, and so has the Dr. Horvat scholarship funds. I am beyond fortunate to have received funding for my education during both my undergraduate and medical school years. I am excited to graduate from medical school in the spring of 2020, and will be forever grateful to both the late Dr. Horvat and his family, as well as all who are involved with The Horvat Scholarship Foundation. I hope to return to my hometown of Avoca, PA to serve many of the same families the late Dr. Horvat did.

"My education is something that is very important to me, and vital to the success of my future. Receiving the Horvat Scholarship allowed me to attend the University of Pittsburgh for my undergraduate degree and toward my goal of becoming a Physician Assistant. I am currently a Physician Assistant student at the University of Pittsburgh. This scholarship is allowing me to focus on my educational path to becoming a Physician Assistant, not entirely on the financial burden that comes with it. In the long run, the Horvat scholarship will help not just myself, but others that I will impact in the medical field. I am so grateful to the late Dr. Horvat and the foundation left in his honor. I cannot wait for my end goal, that would not have been possible without it."

KyleBerlinski inside"The Horvat Scholarship had a significant impact on my academic achievement throughout both my undergraduate and graduate curriculum. Thanks to this foundation and its trustees, I was able to develop my clinical and interpersonal skills early on through extracurricular opportunities within the community without concern of financial burden. The Horvat Scholarship Foundation continues to provide support to the growing number of health science students in our local community without asking anything in return. They value the hard work, discipline, and dedication required to deliver high-quality and ethically sound medical services in the modern state of healthcare. I am forever grateful to the Horvat Scholarship Foundation and the integral role it played in my becoming an entry-level licensed physical therapist."

Dr Tina George"The Horvat Scholarship provided me with the opportunity to get an excellent undergraduate education. Having the scholarship allowed me to focus on my academic and research interests. I was able to prioritize internships and research projects rather than having to work exclusively to pay tuition. These experiences in turn prepared me for medical school. The Horvat Scholarship continues to have a positive impact on my life today. I am able to practice as a primary care provider in my hometown of Avoca in large part because I do not have educational debt. I am tremendously grateful to the late Dr. Horvat and to the Foundation."
